14 for 14: Field Trips for Schoolchildren
Nothing compares with seeing the words of admiration that President Thomas Jefferson wrote to Maryland hero Benjamin Banneker, who helped survey Washington, D.C. This kind of encounter is the life-changing experience that the museum provides. You can give children this chance. That's why we've set a goal to raise $14,000 in 14 days provide field trips to 15 deserving school groups so they can deepen their learning through rare artifacts and art. The museum has two endowment opportunities: The Eddie C. and C. Sylvia Brown Family Foundation Challenge Grant to support general museum programs, and the National Endowment for the Humanities We the People Challenge Grant to support the museum’s signature interpretative education curriculum, An African American Journey created in conjunction with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE).
Various opportunities exist to support the museum’s programs, events and exhibitions. Sponsors receive special recognition on-site, as well as on related marketing and promotional materials.
